Suggestions for a New School Year

As I sit here thinking about the new school year, I was wondering if we might be able to share ideas on how we get ready. One idea I have is to call each student or visit them before school. That way the barrier is broken down and they seem more at ease when they come on the first day. Now I just have to get phone numbers and addresses??? This might be a challenge...as it is every year!
